We've tried to list everything you will need to know on the day here but if we've missed something feel free to get in contact racedirector@burtonleonard10k.co.uk.
Both races start and end from our Race HQ which is setup in Burton Leonard Village School. Registration for both races is open from 9am. It's not hard to find but they'll be loads of signs pointing you in the right direction. Parking is available on the sports field which can be found down Peter Lane and it about 5 minutes walk from the start. On a normal day this can be more of a challenge to find but again they'll be obvious signage on race day.
FoBls the school PTA will be at Race HQ selling drinks, bacon sandwiches and other goodies. Toilets will be available at Race HQ.
Start time 10am, the junior run stays close to the village but still manages to sneak in 39m of climbing. The route will be fully marshed including a tail runner, adults are also welcome to run with their children should you wish (assuming you can keep up!). Terrain is a mixture of road, grass and bridleway/trail.
Starting at 11am, the 10k route leaves the village through the Mountgarret estate and down the hills towards Brearton before heading back up to the village. Gates will be opened and manned to prevent the need to cross styles or cattlegrids. The only exception is when crossing the beck 1.5Km into the run (outbound and return), here you will have the option to climb over the style, run around it up or, if you're feeling especially brave, run through the beck. Route is fully signposted and marshalled including lead and tail bikes and is approximately 50:50 tarmac and trail.
Water stations are available just before the 5k mark (when the route joins Warren Lane) and 8k after climbing out of Brearton.
All finishers will recieve a goody bag after the run at Run HQ where water will also be available.
We hope we won't require their services but medical cover is stationed at RaceHQ and will also follow the race by bike.
